Ali Farzat, the Syrian cartoonist, has received a taste of Bashar al- Asad’s promises

 

 

With the support of some committees, President Bashar al- Asad is still busy preparing to introduce a new media law. Last night, his security thugs, alshabiha, attacked Ali Farzat. He was badly beaten and dumped at the side of Tariq al- Mattar (the Airport.st,)

For the last six months, his interactive website http://www.ali-ferzat.com/ has been a vibrant space that supports the Syrian revolution and exposes the Syrian leader and his regime; there brutality and hypocrisy. It was attacked today by the hackers of “the Syrian electronic Army” which was praised lately by the president in his third speech.

Ali Farzat’s cartoons, articles and insightful comments are extremely popular among Syrians. Apparently the regime found it difficult to digest his latest two cartoons, among many others:
